Conference Agenda

DAY 1: OCTOBER 5TH
Start Where You Are
Every knitter has one: the sweater that took months and now lives in the back of the closet. Monday makes sure it doesn't happen again. You'll learn to find the fit you actually like, take measurements you can trust, and resize a yoke sweater using your own gauge instead of the pattern's. There's also guidance on building a handmade wardrobe on purpose — plus a true beginner track covering the stitches themselves and your first finished project.

DAY 2: OCTOBER 6TH
Made to Measure
Shoe size is a guess. Tuesday replaces it with real numbers. You'll learn to measure a foot properly and turn those numbers into a reusable record for cuff-down socks — sizing from measurements, not shoe size, and adjusting for instep, arch, and toe length. Two sessions tackle the afterthought heel, construction and placement. The day closes with mitts sized to your own wrist, no pattern required.

DAY 3: OCTOBER 7TH
What the Pattern Isn't Telling You
A knitting pattern is a document making claims, and Wednesday teaches you to check them. You'll learn a ten-minute pattern audit that catches problems before row 147, and the five ways patterns go wrong. You'll also see it from the designer's side — what makes instructions hold together — plus charted lace, and reading a hand-dyed skein well enough to predict how it knits up.

DAY 4: OCTOBER 8TH
The Yarn Decides
Thursday is about the material and what it will and won't do for you. You'll learn what each fiber is genuinely good at — why wool stretches, why cashmere pills, which yarns want to be a shawl versus a jumper — and how to turn leftover oddballs into yarn worth knitting. Then two sides of fabric: felting, and two-colour brioche, the squishy reversible fabric built from one slipped stitch.

DAY 5: OCTOBER 9TH
Your Turn
By Friday you have the fit, measurements, pattern skills, and yarn knowledge — this is the day you spend them. You'll knit a modular scarf worn three ways, with gauge left up to you. You'll learn the garter tab cast-on and the two-row repeat behind a top-down triangle shawl, plus a tool for designing garments in any yarn without the math.

Meet Your Summit Host
Peya Robbins
Summit Manager
Host of the Knitters Paradise Summit
Peya Robbins has been in the room for more summits than she can count — hosting, producing, and keeping things moving behind the scenes for Mastery Route. You may know her from Quilters Paradise summits, where she has helped set the tone and bring energy to the summit experience, and she will be doing the same to the machine embroidery world. She is not a machine embroiderer, and she leans heavily into that. Because when you don't know the "rules," you ask better questions. The ones beginners are too nervous to raise and the ones experts stopped thinking about years ago. Peya's job is to get the good stuff out of every speaker and make sure you leave with answers you can actually do something with. Come ready to learn. She'll take care of the rest.
